Ian Eshelman named head baseball coach at ϳԹ

Ian Eshelman has been chosen to serve as head baseball coach at ϳԹ.

ϳԹ Athletics has announced the hiring of to serve as head baseball coach.

Eshelman has served as the assistant varsity coach for the Dordt baseball program since the 2020 season while acting as recruiting coordinator, strength coach, and third base coach. Prior to his time at Dordt, Eshelman worked as a head baseball coach in the Puerto Rico Collegiate League (Summer 2019) where he oversaw player development, travel arrangements and scheduling. Eshelman served as the assistant coach at Arkansas Baptist College (Spring 2019); was the head coach of the Edgewater Pirates (Summer 2018); served as assistant coach at SUNY Cobleskill (Spring 2018 ); and worked for the Wichita Aviators (Summer 2017).

"I look forward to using baseball as a vehicle for mentoring young men to glorify God while pursuing excellence in their daily lives," says Eshelman.

Eshelman has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication from Central Christian College and a Master of Education in Sports Leadership at ϳԹ. He will be Dordt's fifth baseball coach since 1980.

"I am thrilled to announce Ian will serve as our next baseball coach," says Director of Athletics Darin Keizer. "He will lead the program well and will pursue ways to fulfill the Great Commission, develop student-athletes academically, develop servant-leaders, and pursue success on the field."
